Queen's Park 3 v 1 Stirling Albion (98 images)
Stirling headed to the national stadium to take on the only side they are yet to defeat in Division Two action. Queen's Park won comfortably at Forthbank before Christmas having stung the Beanos with a last gasp leveller in the earlier match at Hampden. Gardner Spiers' team have played some excellent football this season but still find themselves struggling to avoid the relegation play-offs. Today's encounter was therefore vital for both sides. Stirling needed to follow up the good win over Peterhead otherwise the effort that went into that performance could end up counting for nothing.
On a newly laid Hampden Park surface Stirling made a bright start to the game and laid siege to the Queens goal. However, a succession of missed chances, particularly from David McKenna, meant it was somehow goalless at the interval. Predictably the second period wasn't as good and Stirling quickly fell behind. Mark Dochety levelled matters but two late goals on the break sealed our fate. Very frustrating day for the Stirling fans in attendance.
